Kyla has spent much of her life in Dunedin, growing up in Port Chalmers and now living on a small lifestyle block in the Dunedin hills.
Originally trained as an occupational therapist, Kyla worked and travelled extensively overseas before returning home to raise a family amongst all Dunedin has to offer.
Kyla commenced her second career, enrolling part-time as a law student, while home with a young family. Working in a variety of roles in the Faculty of Law, University of Otago since 2014, Kyla especially enjoys tutoring in legal ethics and working with first year law students.
Kyla joined McMillan&Co. in 2019, combining her Faculty of Law work with the experience of working in a progressive law practice.
Her community service has included volunteering with Disabled Skiers Otago, and Kyla currently focuses on supporting the various schools her children are involved with, including a long-standing commitment as a Māori Hill School Board member. With four children and a wide array of pets, the latest addition being a miniature donkey, life outside of work is full of family fun and adventures.
